Poem inspired by Psalm 2
by Mrs. G
Why do I feel like the enemy?
Constantly falling
down on one knee
Begging for mercy
For my mistakes
Wondering next
What plans should I make
From nation to nation
From heart to heart
Evil wants all
To be torn apart
But what should we do
How do we stop this mess
Our Lord says, “Ask Me”
I’ll show you what’s best
So ask Him we do
And answer he does
But we think His plan’s crazy
And turn back because
Our faith isn’t there
We need proof we should act
So we cling to the known
And opt out of the pact
Enemies we become
As we react with fear
Our Lord still reaching out
Saying, “Children I’m here”
Yet we constantly battle
Our selves and our friends
While constantly screaming
We want it to end
Our Heavenly Father
looks on with dismay
Saying children just stop
I didn’t plan it this way
Your fear ruins all
Blocking gifts I’ve to share
Stop it my child
Trust that I am still there
Yet nation to nation
Neighbor to neighbor
Your fear and your fighting
are causing your labor
and the pains that come from
not trusting in me.
You should stay on your knees
Until faith sets you free
Free from the fighting
And bickering too
Free from those things
That are not the truth
I sent my Son
To set all things right
So stop it dear children
I won the fight.
Just take a breath
Take refuge in Me
Before you know it
Your souls will feel free
For nations will war
And people will fail
Just focus on me
And remember the nail

Psalms 2 - (RSV)
1 Why do the nations conspire,
and the peoples plot in vain?
2The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and his anointed, saying,
3“Let us burst their bonds asunder,
and cast their cords from us.”
4He who sits in the heavens laughs;
the Lord has them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his wrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6“I have set my king
on Zion, my holy hill.”
7 I will tell of the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, “You are my son,
today I have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession.
9You shall break them with a rod of iron,
and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.”
